The Duke family has built, developed and managed real estate in the Detroit area since 1887. With the benefit of four generations worth of understanding and expertise Tom founded the company that bears his name in 1980. Since that time the Thomas A. Duke Company has grown in service and reputation so that today, in metropolitan Detroit real estate markets, the company name opens doors. As a locally owned, locally invested company it stands above its competitors for the exceptional quality of its associates and the service they tailor to fit each client. Each of the agents on the team Tom has assembled specializes in a particular geographic location across the five-county metropolitan area. A client in any of these markets is thus matched with an expert in that market, someone with in-depth knowledge of its particular opportunities who can deftly and successfully advance the client's goals. Tom's own notable recent transactions include the acquisition, renovation and re-leasing of the 63,000 square-foot Learning Care Building; the creative assembly and rezoning of two properties, enabling the renovation by Mercedes Benz; and the sale of a 50,000 square-foot multi-tenant office property. Because Tom values healthy relationships between his business and the larger community, he has served on the boards of many professional, governmental and civic groups, ranging from Metrobank (where he served as board chair) to the Farmington Hills Planning Commission.
