History restored, legacy continued.

A landmark opportunity more than 160 years in the making. Located at the gateway to Ypsilanti’s historic Depot Town, the Thompson Block is an extraordinary mixed-use property combining irreplaceable historic character with modern construction, established commercial tenancy and multiple income streams. Originally built circa 1861, this beautifully restored three-story Italianate building has been recognized with a Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation.

The street level is home to Thompson & Co. restaurant and Mash bar, complemented by distinctive outdoor gathering spaces and a highly visible corner location. The upper floors feature 20 luxury loft residences thoughtfully designed to preserve the building’s historic character while offering today’s most desirable amenities. Residential features include exposed brick, soaring ceilings, expansive windows, granite countertops, modern cabinetry, full appliance packages and in-unit laundry. Residents also enjoy a private entrance, elevator access, interior mail area and dedicated on-site parking.

Ideally positioned near Eastern Michigan University, Downtown Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and major expressways, the Thompson Block offers a rare opportunity to acquire a fully restored landmark in one of the area’s most recognizable and walkable districts. The sale includes the real estate only; the restaurant business is not included and will remain in place under its existing commercial lease. Opportunities to own a property of this history, scale and character are exceptionally limited. Financial information and supporting documents are available to qualified purchasers.
